ULCER 2006

      Average rating:
Rating details         Rate this ride

Description: The ride starts in American Fork and heads sound on the east side of Utah Lake. After Springville it heads west to Lincoln Point, around West Mountain and down to Genola. Then up to Benjamin, around the airport and back on the route to American Fork.
Comments: The BBTC's 22nd annual ULCER (Utah Lake Century Epic Ride) stayed to the east of Utah lake for 2006. This new route put together by the Bonneville Bicycle and Tandem Club reduced the wind and got riders out of the rolling hills to the west. The ride was quite flat this year with only one barely noticable 300 foot climb just after the half way point. The weather was about perfect and Rob did a fabulous job of managing the logistics of the event. As always, many thanks to all the wonderful riders we met along the way.

This is a nice route down in Provo valley. I especially like the southern 2/3's of the ride.

The views were nice, but the routes were confusing, especially if you weren't with the rest of the group and had to find your own way back. The Salt Lake City Bike Tour was much more accommodating, and you really felt what you paid for with it. With the ULCER it is a ride and guessing game. I would rather just ride.

This ride isn't as good as it once was. As of '08 they did not have SAG support. Ride it if you wish, but don't expect help if you break down.
